finally, a nice little vacation

So this past week we were able to go to Colorado to visit my uncle, aunt, and cousins. It was a much needed vacation from our hectic lives. Dano, Cory, and I flew in last Friday and the rest of my family drove up and met us on Monday. We spent some time at my uncle's place in Grand Junction, spent a day in Ouray at the hot springs, shopped in Breckenridge, and had a few days to relax at their cabin near Fariplay. All in all it was a very relaxing trip. Here are some pics of our week...

We went to a block party that was in their friend's neighborhood. It was so chill. There was music, food, and lots of nice people.

We also got to go over to my Aunt Linda's for Sunday dinner. It was so much fun to visit with her. Here we are on her balcony eating dinner.

Here's Taylor making us all bannana splits for dessert.

Here we are up on the rim from our drive to Ouray

The boys got to go fishing while we were there

When we were in Breckenridge, Cory and I ate at this place called Rasta Pasta. It was so yum!

The day before we left we went to this old little museum-type town called South Park.

Dano told the kids that Yettis lived up in the mountains. When we were at South Park we told them that this was a Yetti skin. Here is will punching it out to show he's not scared.

Everywhere we went Jake was jerkin'. He would just put on those headphones and dance like there was no one else around. It was pretty bad-a.

Last Weekend

Last weekend I decided I'd tackle the grill and make ribs and steak for my family. I'd never made ribs before but everyone said they were good and there weren't many left overs, so I think it was a success:)

Last weekend we also had an opportunity to go to DJ's baptism. It was so awesome! I'm so excited for him. Congrats DJ love!

Playing Hookie

This past Wednesday Cory found out that he wouldn't have to work. I have been wanting to try and work Saturdays instead of Wednesdays for a while now, so I thought this week would be a good week to try it out. So we decided to take a little mid-week break and we went up to Flagstaff Tuesday night and then spent Wednesday at the Grand Canyon and Sedona. Cory had never been to the Grand Canyon before so it was really fun to go and do that together. We've both been really busy lately (Cory especially) so it was so nice to have a day for just the two of us. No work, no chores, no errands...just me, my man, and a big 'ol canyon. It was great! We also ended up buying another dog. We've been wanting to get a little friend for Kingston for a while now, so we finally just did it. We are officially dog people. She's a cutie though. Her name is Izzy and she's full grown so her and Kingston get along great.

It's Finally Summer!

Nothing really new has been going on with us. I FINALLY graduated so I'm done with school for a while (woo-hoo!). I still don't know what the heck I'm going to do with my free time...of course I'll be working but I haven't had a semester off school since I was five. I'm sure I can get used to the free time somehow:)
Jake graduated high school too. Uncle John and aunt Tracy came down so that was good to get to see them. Of course it was graduation night so it had to rain (I really can't remember a graduation with great weather). It was still good though.
Other than that life is pretty much the same as usual. Cory turned 25 and I graduated...that's about it.

Another Life Lesson

Cory learned an important life lesson...always have someone help you put sunscreen on.

Just an Update

Well it's been a really long time since I've posted. Things are good here...nothing too out of the ordinary. A couple weeks ago we went to Mexico for conference weekend, so that was a nice little break. Now we're just amping up to get through the end of the semester and are anxiously awaiting the summer break. Only three weeks left. Woohoo!

Baby Navy

Dano and Linds welcomed little baby Navy a little over a week ago. She is so darling! I'm not much for babies but I must admit she is one cute little sprout.

"Grandma" with her first grand baby...we're still trying to figure out what to call her, because she doesn't like being called "grandma"
